Nettles Island is a prestigious neighborhood located in Port St. Lucie, FL. The island is made up of approximately 100 homes and sits in the middle of the St. Lucie River just north of the Martin County line. The history of Nettles Island can be traced back to 1879, when the first house was built on the island. The island was originally used as a pineapple plantation, and then, from 1905 until 1978, it was used as a fishing resort called "Pelican Island." In 1979, it became Nettles Island and has been home to many wealthy families ever since.


Nettles Island has been featured in several magazines and newspapers over the past few decades for being one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in town. In recent years, it's been named by both Forbes and Money Magazine as one of the top 10 richest towns in Florida.


In Nettles Island, you can find the most luxurious homes in all of Port St. Lucie. Many homes have their own private docks and yachts, as well as tennis courts, pools, and guest houses.
