Oak Hammock Park is a beautiful and popular tourist destination in Port St. Lucie, FL that spans over 100 lush acres of land just off the southeast corner of Interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike intersection. The history of this park goes back to the late 1800s when it was first developed as a citrus grove. For many years, it served as a working farm before being acquired by the city in 1992 and turned into the Oak Hammock Park we see today.

There's plenty to do at Oak Hammock Park, including hiking and biking trails, nature preserves, a playground, picnic pavilions, and a lake with a fishing pier. Visitors can also enjoy the park's many amenities. The amenities in this park are listed below.


  • Hiking and biking trails: There are over six miles of hiking and biking trails at Oak Hammock Park, which wind through the park's natural areas and provide great views of the lake.
  • Nature Preserves: There are three nature preserves located in the park, each with its own unique features. The Hammock Nature Preserve is home to a variety of native plants and animals and maintains a natural, undeveloped feel. The Heritage Nature Preserve features a boardwalk that goes over the swamp area and has educational signs about the flora and fauna in that area. The Oak Hammock Marsh Nature Preserve is home to birds, turtles, alligators, frogs, snakes, rabbits, and more.
  • Picnic shelters: Oak Hammock Park has two picnic shelters.
  • Paddling: The park offers kayak and canoe rentals in the summer, with easy access to the Intercoastal Waterway.
  • Oak Hammock Park is also home to a playground, a fitness trail, a dog park and more.
